Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue does not have kennels or boarding facilities. All pit bulls that are rescued are either fostered to individuals, boarded at veterinary clinics, or placed in rescue shelters.

Read our Requirements Prior to Requesting a Listing…
Friends to the Forlorn is NOT a dog shelter. We can only take in dogs when foster homes or boarding are available. We provide medical care for select dogs in need. Most importantly, we help provide exposure to dogs in need of forever homes in order to increase their chance of finding a suitable home.
Spay/Neuter Policy
Dogs listed with us must be spayed or neutered, no exceptions. If you are a private rescue, or if you are a dog owner looking to rehome your dog, you will be asked to provide proof of sterility. If you are a shelter representative, you will be asked to provide proof of the shelter's spay/neuter policy. Friends to the Forlorn will not help rehome a pet until spay/neuter requirements are met.
Photos
We can't stress this enough...a picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to exposure.
The photo is the first thing people notice when they visit your listing. If the dog has a poor picture, visitors may not take the time to read his description and will move on to another dog. If you want to give your dog the best chance possible, please send us clear pictures of the dog.
Disclaimer
Friends to the Forlorn and its volunteers are not responsible for all dogs listed on the site. Dogs must be evaluated prior to being listed for adoption. We recommend that anyone interested in adopting a dog proceed with their own temperament evaluation. The evaluation should be done by a professional or someone who understands the breed and its characteristics.
In general, pit bulls make excellent pets, but like other breeds, it's possible that some of them may have undesirable traits such as human aggression, shyness, instability, etc., due to indiscriminate breeding and/or irresponsible/abusive ownership. Animals showing human aggression will NOT be made available for adoption.
Meeting the applicant, conducting a home visit and contacting references should be standard procedure before a dog is placed in a home.
